About The Position

JOB DUTIES: Conduct thorough assessments of patients' respiratory status and history. Develop and implement individualized respiratory care plans based on patient needs and physician orders. Administer respiratory therapies, including aerosol medications, mechanical ventilation, and oxygen therapy. Monitor and evaluate patients' responses to treatment, adjusting care as needed. Educate patients and their families about respiratory conditions, treatments, and preventative measures. Conduct diagnostic tests such as arterial blood gas analysis and pulmonary function tests. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient care and improve outcomes. Maintain accurate patient records, documenting assessments, treatments, and progress.

Requirements

  • Must possess a valid respiratory therapist license in the State of Missouri.
  • Must have an associate's degree or higher in respiratory therapy from an accredited program.
  • Must possess certification from the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT),
  • Must have a minimum of two years of experience in a clinical setting, preferably in critical care or acute care environments.
  • Must have a strong understanding of respiratory care protocols, equipment, and therapies.
  • Must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple priorities efficiently.
  • Must possess current BLS certification throughout employment.
  • Must earn ACLS and PALS within six (6) months of hire.
