About The Position

To provide psychiatric counseling and case management for Community Support Program (CSP) and provide crisis intervention and stabilization for clients in the community.

Requirements

  • Basic everyday living skills, the ability to understand, follow and provide directions in a professional and respectful manner.
  • Reading and writing reports is necessary.
  • Communicating in a professional and respectful manner with staff, community professionals, agencies and the general public is required.
  • Must have a valid Wisconsin Driver's License and access to an insured vehicle.
  • Skill in the use of general office equipment, including but not limited to telephone, copy machine, calculator, dictation equipment, typewriter, computer terminal, fax machine, and automobile.
  • We also require that your values are consistent with the clinical unit: treat others with dignity and respect, maintain professional integrity and foster intellectual creativity.
  • A bachelor’s degree in behavioral science or related field with 1,000 hours of supervised post-degree clinical experience with chronically mentally ill persons, or a bachelor’s degree in a field other than behavioral health with 2,000 hours of supervised post-degree clinical experience with persons with chronic mental illness.

  • This position also requires knowledge of the CSP program, and the practices and principles of crisis intervention and response.

Responsibilities

  • Provides counseling, single point of contact coordination services, and case management to CSP clients.
  • 75% of the CSP Professional's time is spent on direct service provision with a majority of this time being in community settings. This includes performing functional screens, initial assessments, determining areas of service needs, and developing initial treatment plans.
  • Providing supportive counseling, education, and assisting in areas of need are also required for this position. This includes home visits, facilitating daily living skills, and providing support and encouragement in a professional manner.
  • Facilitate group-based activities for Community Support Program members based upon member needs and goals
  • Complete relevant clinical documentation for all activities.
  • Provides crisis counseling, crisis intervention and being part of the 24 hour on-call crisis team.
  • Meets regularly for clinical staffing and case management coordination.
