About The Position

The CSP Tech is responsible for decontamination, assembly of instrument sets, operation of steam and Sterrad, as well as all monitoring processes included with the same. This position requires maintaining adequate inventory for assembly of instruments and equipment, performing multiple tasks that assist in the daily operation of all units, and being responsible for customer service. The CSP Tech will also participate in the decontamination and cleaning of all instrumentation received, prepare case carts and trays for decontamination, and operate various cleaning and sterilization equipment according to established standards and procedures.

Requirements

  • Current National Sterile Processing Certification
  • 2 years of CSPD experience

Nice To Haves

  • 5 years of CRCST experience in a hospital setting or Same Day Surgery Center

Responsibilities

  • Maintain adequate inventory for assembly of instruments and equipment
  • Perform multiple tasks that assist in the daily operation of all units as well as being responsible for customer service
  • Perform and participate in the decontamination and cleaning of all instrumentation received
  • Prepare case carts and trays for decontamination and load them into washer and/or sterilizer as prescribed procedure
  • Perform the operation of the index washers, cart washers, ultrasonic cleaners as well as manually cleaning instruments and equipment
  • Inspect all instruments for cleanliness, proper function, and breakage before assembly
  • Use appropriate container, wrap or pouch according to the size of the instrument or equipment
  • Sterilize instruments and surgical trays by following prescribed policies and procedures
  • Run tests on all sterilizers, monitor and document that all parameters have been met
  • Use chemicals in the appropriate fashion considering the intended use and function, with knowledge of appropriate PPE
  • Participate in expediting the OR schedule by assisting the OR Team in obtaining necessary instruments/equipment in a timely manner
  • Assemble and distribute case carts accurately and in a timely manner
