CST Intern - Outpatient Surgery

Scheduled Weekly Hours: 36 Must be actively enrolled in a Certified Surgical Technologist program with successful completion of 1st year of the program. Gain experience in the Outpatient Surgery Surgical Tech field and be a part of our Surgical Technologist Internship program at Emplify Health by Gundersen Health System! The CST Interns assists physician as scrub person according to prescribed standards under the direct supervision of the CST or trained RN Scrub with the primary goal of focusing on learning opportunities and extending the student experience.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalency
- Actively enrolled in a Certified Surgical Technologist program with successful completion of 1st year of CST program
- Current Infant-Adult Basic Life Support for Health Care Providers (with hands on learning) from one of the following programs; American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
Responsibilities
- Provides assistance to the physician and surgical team by passing instrumentation, equipment, supplies, and maintains aseptic integrity during the surgical procedure under the direct supervision of the CST or trained RN Scrub.
