About The Position

The CT Technologist (Computed Tomography Technologist) performs diagnostic CT imaging procedures to assist physicians in diagnosing and treating medical conditions. The technologist operates CT equipment to produce high-quality cross-sectional images while ensuring patient safety, maintaining radiation protection standards, and following established clinical protocols. This role requires strong technical knowledge of CT imaging systems, patient positioning, and imaging procedures within a hospital or clinical radiology environment.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program
  • New York State License in Radiologic Technology – Required.
  • American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification in Computed Tomography (ARRT-CT) – Required.
  • Strong knowledge of CT imaging techniques, patient positioning, and radiation safety
  • Excellent communication and patient care skills.

Responsibilities

  • Perform computed tomography (CT) imaging procedures according to physician orders and departmental protocols.
  • Prepare patients for CT scans by explaining procedures and ensuring proper positioning.
  • Operate and maintain CT imaging equipment to produce high-quality diagnostic images.
  • Administer contrast agents when required and monitor patients for any adverse reactions.
  • Ensure proper radiation safety practices for patients and staff.
  • Evaluate images for quality and accuracy before submitting them for radiologist interpretation.
  • Maintain accurate documentation in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) and imaging systems.
  • Collaborate with radiologists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure efficient patient care.
  • Follow infection control policies and maintain a clean and safe imaging environment.
  • Assist with patient transport and preparation when necessary.
