The CTE Academy is seeking a driven Administrator Intern to support essential school operations, strengthen student and staff experiences, and contribute to the growth of dynamic, career-focused programs. This role offers hands-on leadership experience in a fast-paced environment where collaboration, creativity, and a commitment to positive impact are valued.

Requirements

  • Preferred - Master’s degree in an approved program which qualifies for principal certification with the state of South Dakota.
  • Minimum - Enrolled in a Master’s degree program eligible for degree completion and South Dakota principal certification within two years of hire.
  • A minimum of three years’ teaching experience.
  • This position requires constant hand-eye/mind-eye coordination, hearing; intermittent walking, talking, writing.
  • Frequent keyboarding and repetitive motions with wrists, fingers, and hands are required.
  • Demonstrated interest in school leadership, Career and Technical Education, and student-centered programming.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple responsibilities while maintaining attention to detail.

Responsibilities

  • Support initiatives that promote a positive, inclusive, and safe school climate for students and staff.
  • Assist with student and staff attendance monitoring, reporting, and follow-up.
  • Support emergency procedures, safety planning, and building-level drills.
  • Assist with staff evaluation processes in collaboration with administrative leadership.
  • Conduct custodial staff evaluations and coordinate facility-related feedback.
  • Coordinate and support staff meetings, professional learning, and collaborative team structures.
  • Manage employee time card approvals and related documentation.
  • Support school improvement planning, data collection, and progress monitoring.
  • Assist in maintaining and updating staff and student handbooks.
  • Coordinate advisory committee meetings, ensuring accountability, documentation, and follow-up.
  • Support special education processes, including accommodation plans and compliance documentation.
  • Assist in coordinating student competitions, events, and recognition activities.
  • Provide oversight support for student placement and internship programs in partnership with staff and industry partners.
  • Promote and enhance relationships with community partners and industry stakeholders.
  • Assist with coordination of industry advisory boards and work-based learning opportunities.
  • Support approval and scheduling of building use requests.
  • Assist with maintaining and updating the school website and parent messaging communication platform.
  • Support internal and external communication related to academy programs and initiatives.
