About The Position

Facilitate career-oriented education by teaching Future Educator Pathway courses and working with students in their apprenticeship. The teacher collaborates with College, Career and Innovation colleagues to support the office mission and vision, while also serving as a liaison between educational and professional environments. Requires maintaining current teaching credentials, CTE certification, and ability to teach concurrent enrollment courses with the Community College of Aurora in education-related fields.

Requirements

  • Criminal background check and fingerprinting required
  • Master's degree in education or related field
  • Five (5) years of professional teaching experience
  • Current secondary teaching license Ability to be credentialed as a concurrent enrollment instructor with the Community College of Aurora (CCA) in one or more of the following areas: Education, Culturally and Linguistically Diverse Education, Special Education, Science, or Instructional Technology
  • Ability to obtain the CTE Education and Training Credential within six (6) months of hire (requires a secondary credential)
  • Advanced Problem-solving and organizational skills
  • Advanced interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively as a member of a team
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with diverse students, families, and colleagues

Responsibilities

  • Plan and teach courses in the Future Educator Pathway.
  • Support students in the future educator pathway through intervention, mentoring and instructional support.
  • Maintain and utilize district and state systems, including Salesforce, Naviance, PowerSchool, Schoology and the U.S. Department of Labor RAPIDS site
  • Ensure full compliance with all Career and Technical Education (CTE) requirements, including CTSO participation, Advisory Committees, and accurate data collection.
  • Ensure all program documentation, student records, and compliance reports are accurate, organized, and submitted on time.
  • Plan, coordinate, and attend evening and daytime recruitment events to engage prospective students and families in Future Educator and other Work-based Learning opportunities.
  • Perform other duties as assigned or requested.
