About The Position

The District Curriculum Director provides leadership, support, and oversight of curriculum, instruction, assessment, and professional learning to ensure continuous improvement in student achievement. This position supports the Glen Rose School District’s Cycle of Continuous Improvement through data-driven decision-making, collaborative leadership, and alignment of instructional practices.

Requirements

  • Valid Arkansas Teaching License
  • Master’s Degree in Education, Curriculum & Instruction, Educational Leadership, or related field (required)
  • Minimum of five (5) years successful teaching experience
  • Knowledge of Arkansas Academic Standards and accountability systems
  • Experience with assessment systems and instructional frameworks
  • Ability to analyze data and guide instructional improvement
  • Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with administrators, teachers, and stakeholders

Nice To Haves

  • Administrative License (preferred)
  • Campus or district-level leadership experience preferred or its equivalent
  • Experience in curriculum development and instructional coaching

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development, alignment, and implementation of K–12 curriculum
  • Ensure vertical and horizontal curriculum alignment
  • Support research-based instructional practices
  • Coordinate curriculum reviews, adoptions, and revisions
  • Support literacy, numeracy, science, and intervention initiatives
  • Ensure qualifications meet the Arkansas Department of Secondary and Elementary Education’s Requirements.
  • Ensure required courses and programs of study are offered by Glen Rose School District
  • Lead district dyslexia programming and ensure state compliance
  • Coordinate implementation of structured literacy initiatives
  • Support teachers in evidence-based reading instruction
  • Monitor fidelity of literacy interventions and supports
  • Analyze reading and literacy data to guide instruction
  • Oversee district assessment systems and data collection
  • Analyze student performance trends and outcomes
  • Support campuses in developing data-driven improvement plans
  • Facilitate data reviews with principals and PLC teams
  • Monitor progress toward district and campus goals
  • Design and implement district-wide professional development
  • Support instructional coaching and mentoring models
  • Coordinate leadership and teacher training initiatives
  • Promote a growth mindset and culture of continuous improvement
  • Serve as a member of the District Leadership Team
  • Collaborate with principals, facilitators, and instructional staff
  • Facilitate curriculum and improvement committees
  • Support grants, innovation initiatives, and strategic planning
  • Work closely with Federal Program Coordinator and ACSIP Chairs
  • Serve on the Wellness Committee
  • Ensure compliance with state and federal instructional requirements
  • Support accreditation and accountability processes
  • Assist with required reporting and documentation
  • Monitor implementation of mandated instructional programs
  • Assist with audits and evaluations as needed
  • Title IX and VI Coordinator

Benefits

  • Salary is based on the district certified salary schedule and paid at a 1.15 multiplier, with benefits in accordance with district policy.
