About The Position

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in custodial or janitorial work preferred but not required.
  • Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
  • Basic understanding of cleaning chemicals and supplies and their safe usage.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions accurately.

Nice To Haves

  • Certification in custodial or facility maintenance practices.
  • Experience operating industrial cleaning equipment.
  • Knowledge of OSHA safety standards related to custodial work.
  • Strong communication skills to interact effectively with team members and supervisors.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts including evenings, weekends, or holidays if required.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine cleaning duties including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, and trash removal in assigned areas.
  • Sanitize restrooms, break rooms, and other common areas to maintain hygiene and prevent the spread of germs.
  • Operate and maintain custodial equipment such as floor scrubbers, buffers, and carpet cleaners safely and effectively.
  • Restock supplies such as paper towels, soap, and toilet paper to ensure availability for building occupants.
  • Report any maintenance issues, safety hazards, or security concerns to the appropriate personnel promptly.
  • Follow established safety protocols and use personal protective equipment to minimize risks during cleaning operations.
  • Assist with setup and cleanup for special events or meetings as needed.
