About The Position

OOIDA is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Custodian to join our team full-time. This position plays a key role in maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for both employees and visitors in our office facility. This position must be adaptable to changing priorities, such as shifting tasks based on facility needs or special events as well as occasional outdoor needs. The Custodian position offers the opportunity for growth within our Maintenance or Internal Services departments for the right candidate.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED

Responsibilities

• Operates and maintains various mechanized cleaning equipment (such as vacuums and floor scrubbers) safely and effectively, performing minor maintenance or reporting malfunctions.
• Maintains facility in a sanitary and infection-free condition through washing, cleaning of equipment and furnishings.
• Damp dusts furniture, light fixtures, window sills, cubicles, photos, baseboards, etc.
• Cleans wash basins, mirrors, commodes, tubs, and showers daily.
• Assist with event setup and teardown.
• Assists in maintaining cleanliness in our outdoor areas, such as sweeping walkways, entryways and removing debris from property.
• Is able to work off-site for special projects (gathering materials, moving equipment or furniture, cleaning, etc.)
• Interacts with members and staff in a courteous and professional manner.
• Adapts to changing priorities, such as shifting tasks based on facility needs or special events.
• Responsible for disposal of trash, waste, and other disposable materials.
• Handles various cleaning solvents, chemicals, etc., complying with all regulations such as OSHA, EPA, State Health Department, etc.
