About The Position

We are seeking to hire a highly motivated, dependable, and trustworthy individual with outstanding customer service skills and a keen attention to detail to join Hawaiian Building Maintenance. The Custodian Lead will be responsible for ensuring that the buildings are cleaned and well-maintained. While previous experience in supervisory roles, custodial, janitorial work, housekeeping, or a related field is preferred, we encourage enthusiastic candidates to apply! Requirements

  • Must pass background check
  • High school diploma/GED preferred
  • Must have a valid driver's license and a reliable vehicle
  • Previous janitorial, custodian experience or related experience is preferred, and willing to train
  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions in English
  • Must have good public relations skills and communication
  • Applicants must perform basic manual labor, clean common areas, press, push, pull, frequently lift 40lbs, carry a minimum of 25lbs (up to 50lbs), be able to reach overhead, grasp objects, bend, kneel, walk, crawl, squat, climb, stretch, walk up and down the stairs and use a ladder climb up and down and stand throughout their shifts.

Responsibilities

  • Communicate effectively with the team, management, and property managers.
  • Respond promptly to emails and phone calls while maintaining clear communication with the HBM team and property manager.
  • Drive a golf cart in designated areas only.
  • Manage and supervise a custodial team by employing strong leadership, organization, and communication skills.
  • Review and submit time cards in a timely manner.
  • Maintain cleanliness in common areas throughout the buildings.
  • Restock and collect supplies as needed.
  • Clean and sanitize restrooms, disinfect surfaces, and ensure the parking lot, walk paths, and seating areas are tidy.
  • Remove and dispose of trash and recycling in designated locations.
  • Maintain safety signage during wet conditions.
  • Perform light ground maintenance tasks.
  • Polish hallways and floors to ensure they are presentable.
  • Operate a pressure washer for cleaning purposes.
  • Utilize a leaf blower or handheld blower for outdoor maintenance.
  • Stand and walk for extended periods as required by the job.
  • Use a smartphone to upload information to HBM, communicate via email, and respond to phone calls and text messages.
  • Follow safety procedures strictly.
  • Report any safety issues or building problems (e.g., burnt light bulbs).
  • Perform any additional duties as assigned by the HBM supervisor or property manager.
