The Custodian/Security Guard I is responsible for performing custodial and security duties for a safe care environment for members, staff and visitors; achieved by demonstrating the principles of monitoring premises, cleaning, disinfection, fogging and quality assurance toward the reduction of infectious diseases (i.e., the building, offices and clinical spaces). Key duties include cleaning and disinfecting clinical areas, restrooms, public areas and meeting spaces including the collection and disposal of biohazardous waste. The Custodian/Security Guard I will respond to alarms, emergency requests, and use verbal de-escalation skills to resolve safety incidents. The Custodian/Security Guard I must comply with Center for Disease Control (CDC) and Native American Health Center (NAHC) standards for sanitation, including proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) while adhering to safety standards (e.g. SDS for chemicals) and participating in environmental emergency responses. Custodians may be asked to work on occasional weekends and outside of regular clinic hours. The Native American Health Center is an accredited institution and adheres to the standards of excellence set forth by the Accreditation Association of Ambulatory Health Care (AAAHC) and the Commission of Dental Accreditation (CODA).
