About The Position

Join our team as a Custodian responsible for maintaining cleanliness and hygiene standards in university buildings. This role involves a diverse range of tasks including cleaning, vacuuming, trash removal, dusting, recycling, restroom maintenance, and light-bulb replacement. Position Details: This is an On-Campus ACA Variable Hourly position offering a minimum of 15 hours per week.

Requirements

• Reliability and Ability to Follow Instructions: Demonstrating consistency and adherence to guidelines is a valuable skill in a custodial role, ensuring tasks are completed accurately and efficiently.
• Lifting and Transferring Weight: Capable of handling loads up to 50 pounds is crucial for various tasks involving equipment, trash, or supplies.
• Comfort with Heights and Extended Reach : Essential for tasks involving climbing stairs, ladders, and reaching high areas for maintenance.
• Adaptability to Uncomfortable Positions : Necessary for tasks like cleaning low areas, which may require crawling, kneeling, or squatting.
• Work in Confined Spaces : Ability and willingness to work effectively in tight or restricted areas, which is common in custodial work.
• Carrying a 25-pound vacuum for Extended Periods: A specific skill relevant to the equipment used in the role.
• Handling Chemicals, Fragrances, and Restroom Cleaning: Demonstrating proficiency in handling cleaning materials and performing specific cleaning tasks.
• Availability for Snow Removal : A task-specific requirement, indicating the need for flexibility and readiness for varied responsibilities.
• Commitment to Assigned Shifts; reliability in fulfilling designated work hours is crucial for operational efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive cleaning tasks in university building including:
• Encompassing vacuuming
• Trash and Recycling removal
• Dusting
• Restroom upkeep
• Light-bulb replacement.
• Handle other duties as assigned to maintain cleanliness and safety standards.
