About The Position

As a Customer Engineering Manager, you will lead a team of pre-sales engineers who engage with sales prospects, discover and assess customer requirements, prepare and present demonstrations of Google’s Cloud services, and address and overcome technical objections that arise throughout the sales process. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 10 years of experience with cloud native architecture in a customer-facing or support role.
  • Experience managing, mentoring, or coaching a quota-carrying team.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in the Financial Services industry.
  • Experience with software lifecycles, building tools, and architecting and developing software for scalable, distributed systems, including data platform, AI/ML and infrastructure.
  • Experience managing a team through sales processes, operations and career development, including account mapping, quota setting, quarterly/annual performance management, and managing sensitive information.
  • Experience engaging with, and presenting to, technical stakeholders and executive leaders, including tailoring and delivering compelling messages by audience, asking strategic questions, and leading conversations that drive business opportunity.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with Sales and Customer Engineering (CE) management to determine proper staffing levels to support business goals, establish job requisitions, assemble applicant pool, and lead interview team to fill open positions.
  • Assess CE team’s go-to-market readiness, identify gaps in CE preparedness, and build plans to ensure the CE team is properly trained and equipped to successfully perform in support of annualized business goals.
  • Work with Google Cloud Sales team leadership to identify, qualify, and prioritize coverage for business opportunities.
  • Participate in periodic opportunity review meetings providing insight into how to best secure technical success.
  • Work with the sales account team, customer support, product management, customer solutions, and engineering to resolve product problems affecting pre- and post-sales customer satisfaction.
  • Travel as required.
