About The Position

We are seeking an experienced Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) Surgical Technologist to support complex cardiovascular surgical procedures in a fast-paced acute-care operating room environment. The CVOR Surgical Tech will function as a vital member of the surgical team, ensuring a sterile field and assisting surgeons throughout all phases of cardiovascular procedures.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technologist program (required for hires after 2009)
• Minimum of one (1) year experience as a Surgical Technologist
• Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) experience required
• Basic Life Support (BCLS) certification required
• National certification required or preferred through one of the following: NBSTSA (CST) NCCT (TS-C) AST
• Proficient computer and keyboarding skills

Responsibilities

• Perform scrub duties for cardiovascular surgical procedures across all age groups including neonate, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients
• Prepare and maintain sterile fields in accordance with established policies and procedures
• Anticipate surgical team needs and provide instruments, supplies, and equipment efficiently
• Perform assigned unit tasks under the direction of the Registered Nurse
• Function independently within established protocols while maintaining patient safety and confidentiality
• Demonstrate sound judgment, professionalism, tact, and diplomacy in all interactions
