About The Position

The Cyber Security Intern supports the organization’s information security efforts by assisting with data analysis, automation, and compliance-related initiatives. This role provides hands-on exposure to cybersecurity operations, security policy development, and regulated compliance environments, with a strong focus on automating and refining the review of large volumes of security data.

Requirements

• Currently enrolled in an accredited college or university, Junior or Senior standing required
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel)
• Familiarity with data analysis tools and basic scripting or automation concepts
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
• Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and professionalism

Nice To Haves

• Preferred areas of study: Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related discipline

Responsibilities

• Support the development and prototyping of automation and filtering methods for security alerts and log data
• Assist with analyzing large volumes of security data to improve alert accuracy and reduce noise
• Contribute to the enhancement, review, and maintenance of Data Loss Prevention (DLP) protocols
• Support the review and documentation of security policies and procedures
• Assist with cybersecurity compliance initiatives, including CMMC compliance activities
• Perform risk assessments on filtered security logs and document findings for review
• Support continuous improvement efforts related to security monitoring, data filtering, and automation
• Collaborate with cybersecurity and IT stakeholders on assigned projects
