About The Position

Cybersecurity EngineerHyundai America Technical Center, Inc. (HATCI) is a high-potential, entry-level Cybersecurity Engineer to join our lean and agile IT & Cybersecurity team. Because our team is small, you won’t be siloed into a single narrow function. Instead, you will gain hands-on experience across the entire security spectrum, from enterprise infrastructure protection to Vehicle Cybersecurity Incident Response. We aren't just looking for someone who knows how to use security tools; we want a true computer enthusiast. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering
  • Strong CS Fundamentals: A deep understanding of Operating Systems (Linux/Windows), Networking (TCP/IP stack), and System Architecture.
  • Problem-Solving Mindset: A proactive "builder" mentality - someone who loves to take things apart to understand how they work.
  • Communication Skills: Ability to work effectively within a small, tight-knit team and communicate technical risks to diverse stakeholders.
  • Willingness to Travel: Ability to travel to various HATCI locations and potentially internationally to collaborate with global partners.

Nice To Haves

  • Scripting/Coding: Proficiency in Python, Bash, Go, or C/C++ for automation and tool development.
  • Hands-on Projects: Experience with CTFs, home-lab environments, or contributing to open-source projects.
  • Interest in Automotive: A passion for vehicle electronics, CAN bus, or embedded systems security.

Responsibilities

  • End-to-End Security Operations: Assist in managing and optimizing firewalls, EDR, and IDS/IPS across our enterprise environment.
  • Incident Response: Support detection, analysis, and containment of security threats, including specialized participation in Vehicle Cybersecurity incidents.
  • Vulnerability Management: Perform regular scans, assess risks, and work cross-functionally to implement remediation strategies.
  • Global Collaboration: Coordinate with headquarters in Korea and collaborate with various HATCI locations to align security standards.
  • System Hardening: Apply your knowledge of OS and networking to harden systems and improve our overall security posture.
  • ISMS Management & Compliance: Play a key role in achieving and maintaining ISO 27001 certification. You will help manage the Information Security Management System (ISMS) framework, conduct internal audits, and ensure all security controls meet international standards.
