Summary of Role: We are seeking a Cybersecurity intern to join our team. As a Cybersecurity intern, you will assist in maintaining and enhancing GlobalFoundries data protection and data loss prevention (DLP) strategies. This role will provide hands-on experience in cybersecurity practices, policies and technologies focused on safeguarding sensitive information.

Requirements

  • Education – At least a sophomore at time of application and actively pursuing a Bachelor’s in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science or related field through an accredited degree program during the time of internship.
  • Must have at least an overall 3.0 GPA and be in good academic standing.
  • Language Fluency - English (Written & Verbal)
  • Ability to work at least 20 hours per week during the internship.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior related internship or co-op experience
  • Demonstrated prior leadership experience in the workplace, school projects, competitions, etc.
  • Project management skills, i.e., the ability to innovate and execute on solutions that matter; the ability to navigate ambiguity.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong planning & organizational skills
  • Basic knowledge of cybersecurity principles and data protection practices
  • Familiarity with DLP tools (e.g., Forcepoint, Microsoft Purview) and concepts is a plus
  • Eagerness to learn and adapt to new technologies and processes.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with the implementation, configuration and monitoring of DLP tools to help prevent unauthorized data exfiltration.
  • Analyze alerts and reports from DLP systems and provide recommendations for mitigating data leakage related risks.
  • Support investigations into data breaches, including root cause analysis and documentation.
  • Help develop and update data protection policies and procedures.
  • Work on projects related to DLP and other data protection technologies and initiatives as assigned.
  • Perform all activities in a safe and responsible manner and support all Environmental, Health, Safety & Security requirements and programs.
