About The Position

Marceco is seeking a motivated Cybersecurity Intern to assist in strengthening the organization’s cybersecurity program. This role will provide hands-on experience supporting security audits, vulnerability management, policy development, and security awareness initiatives. The intern will work closely with the Technology Team to help improve the organization’s security posture, document processes, and participate in incident response readiness activities.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Security, or currently pursuing a related field of study.
• Familiarity with basic cybersecurity concepts (e.g., CIA triad, firewalls, encryption, MFA).
• Excellent communication and documentation skills.
• Integrity and attention to confidentiality.
• Analytical thinking and curiosity.
• Ability to follow process and adapt to evolving threats.
• Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving abilities

Nice To Haves

• Exposure to tools such as Microsoft Defender, CrowdStrike, Splunk, or Wireshark is a plus.
• Knowledge of regulatory and compliance frameworks is a bonus (e.g., SOC 2, HIPAA, PCI-DSS).
• Basic scripting knowledge (PowerShell) is helpful.

Responsibilities

• Assist with monitoring and reviewing security alerts and incidents.
• Participate in vulnerability assessments and remediation tracking.
• Support the development and maintenance of cybersecurity policies and documentation.
• Assist with internal security audits and access reviews.
• Help develop and deliver cybersecurity awareness training for employees.
• Participate in incident response tabletop exercises.
• Assist with documenting security procedures and operational processes.
• Support alignment of security practices with frameworks such as NIST CSF or CIS Critical Security Controls.
