This job performs microscopic screening and diagnosis of gynecological and miscellaneous specimens. Assists in collection and preparation of fine needle aspiration specimens; performs ancillary prep, clerical and quality control duties when needed; enters negative gynecological results into computer; participates in on-site cytology and other continuing education opportunities. Maintains confidentiality of patient related information. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Requirements

• Education Required - Bachelor's degree Graduation from a Committee on Allied Health Education and Accreditation accredited school of cytotechnologist or other organization approved by Health and Human Services or Certified in cytotechnologist by a certification agency approved by HHS (e.g., American Society of Clinical Pathologists).
• Work Experience Required - None.
• Certifications Required - C.T. (ASCP) registered. Louisiana CYT license or eligible.
