About The Position

The Shared Services Analytics Team provides analytic support to many of the Business Functions of the organization (ie. Foundation, Marketing and Communications, Digital Services, Corporate Risk, Legal, Compliance, etc). This includes querying data in our Enterprise Data Platform, building ad hoc reports, and designing dashboards (using SQL and Tableau). Because our team supports so many different services, this internship will not only strengthen analytic skills but also provide exposure to many different operational domains. In this role, the intern will be paired with one main mentor, a Senior Analyst, who supports our Foundation (fund-raising) Team. They will also have the opportunity to shadow or meet with other analysts and teams within the broader Enterprise Analytics department. The intern will spend much of their time learning about customer requirements, troubleshooting existing reports, and developing new analytic resources under the supervision of the Senior Analyst while learning about database structures and processes as well as using SQL and Tableau. The incumbent for this hybrid role will work Monday-Friday during regular business hours. Essential Functions Under the direction of team members, they learn to resolve minor computer issues. Adequately documents notes and resolution to issues in ITIL ticketing system. Updates support staff regularly on the status of projects, incidents, service requests. Responds to messages according to priority schedule. Under the direction of team members, they learn to support new and existing systems while keeping abreast of technology changes. Under the direction of team members, implements enterprise defined security policies (hardware and software). Works with team members to identify solutions and perform tasks that accomplish individual and team goals. Gains knowledge of the department’s / facility’s functions. Under the direction of team members, the CFS Intern is involved in a variety of projects that support the needs of the department / facility. Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated knowledge of basic computer hardware (pc, mouse, monitor, keyboard).
  • Strong written and oral communication skills and the ability to present ideas in user-friendly language.
  • Self-motivated and directed with the ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
  • Strong customer service orientation with keen attention to detail.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Strong research, organizational and analytical skills as well as the ability to teach users.
  • Demonstrated ability to solve problems in a graceful and sensitive manner.
  • Ability to successfully function in a fast paced, service-oriented environment.
  • Experience using word processing, spreadsheet, database, internet and e-mail and scheduling applications.
  • Experience in a role requiring effective verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Concurrent enrollment in a Bachelors or Masters program is strongly preferred. Enrollment will be verified.
  • Students in Business Administration, Data Analytics, or Healthcare Administration or related field and/or equivalent work experience.
  • Basic SQL coding skills
  • Basic Tableau (or PowerBI) skills
  • Interact with others requiring the employee to verbally communicate as well as hear and understand spoken information, and identify volume, tone, and quality of telecom signals.
  • Support the weight of IT equipment while transporting it.
  • Push or pull portable equipment, including heavy items.
  • Ascend and descend stairs or ladders to service IT equipment needs.
  • Move around on hands and knees.
  • Lower body by bending at the hips and the knees or to place body weight on one or both knees.
  • Raise or lower an object from one level to another.
  • Operate IT equipment, tools, and computers requiring the ability to move fingers and hands.
  • See and read computer monitors and documents.
  • Transport oneself from place to place.

Responsibilities
