COMPANY DESCRIPTION: Union Rescue Mission (URM) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization located in the Los Angeles Metropolitan Area. We are dedicated to serving men, women, and children experiencing homelessness and providing comprehensive emergency and long-term services to help them escape the dangerous streets of Skid Row. POSITION SUMMARY: The Data and Systems Analyst will provide hands-on data, reporting, and system support across Union Rescue Mission’s data platforms, including Salesforce, Mission Tracker, marketing analytics tools, and related operational reporting systems. This role operates under the direction and supervision of the VP of Men's Ministry and supports data and reporting needs across the organization. The role is responsible for executing data preparation, reporting, dashboard component development, quality control, and user support activities that enable accurate, timely, and consistent insights for organizational decision-making under defined strategies and governance. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
  • Minimum 2–3 years of experience in data analysis, reporting, or systems support roles.
  • Strong proficiency in Excel; experience with dashboards and reporting tools such as Tableau or Power BI.
  • Experience working with client tracking systems, databases, or CRM platforms.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy.
  • Ability to follow defined processes while managing multiple priorities.
  • Excellent oral and written communication.
  • Excellent customer service skills

Responsibilities

  • Support the development of marketing performance dashboards in Tableau by preparing datasets, assembling visual components, and implementing defined reporting specifications.
  • Execute mailing list creation and data pulls for direct marketing initiatives, including appeals, newsletters, and campaign reporting.
  • Execute list creation and data pulls for segmented email and SMS campaigns.
  • Assist with scalable data models for marketing segmentation under provided direction.
  • Support reconciliation, validation, and reporting efforts related to marketing data.
  • Support tracking of marketing agency deliverables and performance metrics through reporting and data validation.
  • Execute data analysis, reporting, and dashboard components within Mission Tracker based on defined requirements.
  • Prepare datasets for reporting, automation, and performance tracking related to operational and program data.
  • Perform ongoing data-quality checks and validation to ensure accuracy and consistency.
  • Assist with the creation and maintenance of Mission Tracker dashboards used across departments.
  • Support implementation of approved system updates and enhancements in coordination with relevant stakeholders.
  • Assist with documentation, SOPs, and user guidance for Mission Tracker workflows, incorporating input from the VP of Men’s Ministry as a key stakeholder.
  • Provide day-to-day user support, troubleshooting, and training assistance after processes are defined.
  • Support reconciliation, validation, and reporting efforts related to pledges, gifts, and operational finance forms.
  • Prepare datasets used by Finance and Philanthropy teams for reconciliation and reporting purposes.
  • Assist with accuracy checks and reporting support tied to financial and operational submissions.
  • Support and maintain operational reports and dashboard components for philanthropy stakeholders.
  • Assist with Asana-based grant tracking workflows, including user support and training after implementation.
  • Assist with KPI tracking tied to organizational goals and Ends & Means metrics through data aggregation and validation.
  • Support department-level reporting used to track outcomes, performance, and submission status.
  • Conduct other tasks and projects assigned by the VP of Men's Ministry.
