Data Center Product Manager - Interconnection

About the position

Technical Product Manager will help define and execute the networking and interconnection product strategy supporting all Flexential's colocation, cloud, and managed services. As a key member of the product management team, you will have the unique opportunity to work with every other product in our portfolio to develop a truly differentiated interconnection offer that is the foundation of Flexential's strategy. Working with executive leadership, stakeholders, subject matter experts, and end users, you will determine specific business needs and then create the necessary product requirements that will act as the blueprint for development, backbone engineers, and operation team.

Responsibilities

• Closely collaborate with product marketing, engineering, and operations teams to deliver features and products that support, simplify, and streamline interconnection
• Proactively identify opportunities to improve product performance and customer experience (i.e., features, pricing) while understanding the financial and competitive impacts
• Report on business metrics and product performance and recommend any necessary actions related to performance
• Ensure product features and available inventory meet market requirements as defined by competitive analysis, interaction with customers and prospects, third party analysis, and your own expertise
• Research industry trends and learn new and emerging technologies to understand and articulate product strategy, features, and solution development
• Work closely with our engineering and operations teams to understand our solutions and common architectures to explain to customers and technical audiences
• Mentor others in your area of expertise
• Performs other job-related duties as required

Requirements

• Interconnection experience with colocation, multi cloud, and hybrid cloud deployments
• Experience with AWS Direct Connect, Azure Express Route, and other direct connectivity solutions with exposure to SaaS, Paas, and IaaS solutions
• Keen awareness around the importance of customer experience
• Ability to synthesize and communicate comprehensive product requirements based on multiple sources in a format meaningful to development, operations, finance, sales, and service delivery
• Professional communication skills (oral and written) to align multi-functional teams and objectives and promote team outcomes
• Understanding of network components, functions, and applications
• Able to work cross-functionally to understand other teams' needs and offer advice and solutions with an emphasis on a collaborative approach
• Desire to grow and learn new technologies
• Work effectively in a dynamic and changing environment
