About The Position

This is a non-exempt position. This position is responsible for a variety of tasks related to performing compliance and administrative functions associated with the operation of the Federal Bureau of Indian Education (BIE) programs and Washington State Office of the Superintendent. Incumbent ensures compliance with and abides by timelines of reporting requirements with Federal, State, and Local entities applicable to PSIS operations. Incumbent also maintains and/or documents confidential issues pertinent to educational process, projects, files, and data.

Requirements

  • Requires an AA Degree preferred three (3) years of experience in state/education reporting and office computer skills.
  • Requires passing Washington State, Federal Bureau of Investigation, and Colville Tribal History Background Checks.
  • Requires a valid Washington State Drivers License and to be eligible for Tribal Insurance.
  • Requires Proof of Degree, Transcripts, and three letters of Reference provided along with application.
  • Requires ability to adhere to compliance as required by the OSPI, BIE, and Federal agencies
  • Requires knowledge of and ability to compile data, develop content, draft reports, and monitor completion of reporting requirements pertinent to requesting agency mandates.
  • Requires knowledge of and ability to function in accordance with policies, procedures, laws, rules, regulations, confidentiality, and operational requirements pertinent to PSIS department.
  • Requies ability to act within and maintain the trust and confidence of the PSIS Administration in response to a variety of organizational matters using tact, sensitivity, and discretion.
  • Requires ability to relay sensitive information to staff, elected officials and the public as directed.
  • Requires ability to organize, update, and maintain, purge and archive databases, files, records, and other documents according to guidelines.
  • Requires knowledge of and ability to repare, edit and/or updates procedure, reports, and other documents
  • Requires ability to provide directed oversight and responsibility of BIE audit requirements including monitoring NASIS systems and record keeping duties of school employees to ensure accuracy for bi-yearly audits
  • Requires knowledge of ability to prepare statistical custom reports for PSIS Administration and PSIS School Board.
  • Requires ability to participate as part of the PSIS administrative team in planning, systems analysis, cost estimating and problem-solving activities.
  • Requires abilty to work with departmental staff and educational management/directors to coordinate reporting accuracy.
  • Requires skills to analyze efficiency of administrative services staff duties, provide direction and/or training for improvements to ensure completion of required reporting for K-12 entity.
  • Requires skill and ability to provide direction, coordinate, and assign tasks relevant to critical elements of compliance issues to administrative support staff.
  • Requires ability to participate in weekly BIE conference calls to ensure compliance and system updates.
  • Requires ability to provide applicable NASIS training for staff, students and/or families.
  • Requires ability to perform all other duties on behalf of PSIS Administration or other management personnel as assigned.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with and abides by timelines of reporting requirements with Federal, State, and Local entities applicable to PSIS operations.
  • Maintain and/or documents confidential issues pertinent to educational process, projects, files, and data.
  • Monitor, prepare, edit and/or update complex and diverse reports for a variety of educational constituents i.e., Bureau of Indian Education, Bureau of Indian Affairs, Office of Indian Education (OIEP) and Colville Tribe Employment and Education.
  • Responsible for timely submission of quarterly and annual reports to appropriate agencies as mandated.
  • Compile data, develop content, draft reports, and monitor completion of reporting requirements pertinent to requesting agency mandates.
  • Function in accordance with policies, procedures, laws, rules, regulations, confidentiality, and operational requirements pertinent to PSIS department.
