About The Position

The Data Engineer will design, develop, and maintain data pipelines and integrations in a Snowflake environment, leveraging Qlik and Talend tools. This role will focus on building scalable solutions to support data-driven decision-making and integrating APIs to bring data together in a Qlik Sense SaaS platform. The Data Engineer will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver innovative data solutions that meet business needs. This position requires technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and a proactive mindset. This position is located in Eagan, Minnesota, at Hunt Electric. A hybrid schedule of three days in the office and two days remote is offered after the initial 90 days.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field. Equivalent work experience will also be considered.
  • 2-4 years of professional experience in data engineering or a related field.
  • Proficiency in Qlik Talend for cloud data warehouses, including designing orchestration jobs, transformation components, and API integrations.
  • Strong knowledge of Snowflake, including schema design, performance tuning, and cost optimization strategies.
  • Experience with API integration and data workflows in a Qlik Sense SaaS environment.
  • Advanced SQL skills for complex queries and data transformations.
  • Familiarity with at least one programming language such as Python or Java.
  • Understanding of data modeling (dimensional, normalized, and denormalized) and data governance principles.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational abilities.
  • Excellent communication skills to collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Self-motivated and proactive, with the ability to excel in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) for data storage and processing.
  • Exposure to CI/CD pipelines and DevOps/DataOps practices.
  • Knowledge of BI tools or analytics workflows.
  • Certifications such as Snowflake SnowPro Core or Qlik Talend Data Integration.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain ELT/ETL pipelines using Qlik Talend Cloud, Talend Studio, and Snowflake to support data integration and transformation needs.
  • Build and optimize data workflows to ensure high performance, reliability, and data integrity for both batch and near real-time use cases.
  • Integrate APIs to bring data together into a Qlik Sense SaaS platform, enabling seamless data visualization and analytics.
  • Collaborate with Data Analysts, backend engineers, and business stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver data solutions that drive value.
  • Define and implement best practices for data modeling, metadata management, and data governance within Snowflake and Qlik environments.
  • Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve issues related to data pipelines, performance bottlenecks, and data quality challenges.
  • Document data flows, architecture diagrams, and operational procedures to ensure clarity and transparency.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in data engineering and analytics.
