About The Position

Step into the world of real estate with a program built to launch your career. The Greystar Summer Internship Program is a 10-week immersive experience where you’ll work on meaningful projects, develop in-demand skills, and connect with professionals shaping the future of multifamily housing. As a Greystar intern, you’ll be hired into one of our core business functions—Development & Construction, Investment Management, Property Management, or Enterprise Services—and contribute directly to the work of that team. While your day-to-day role will focus on your assigned area, our curated programming will give you insight into all areas of our business, helping you understand the bigger picture of how we lead the industry. Your internship experience will be enriched through: • Executive Speaker Series with Greystar leaders • Business Segment Trainings & Deep Dives • Mentor Relationships • Site Visits to active projects and communities • Community Outreach opportunities • Networking and Coffee Chats with professionals across the organization You’ll also complete and present a Final Capstone Project—highlighting your learnings, sharing your ideas, and showcasing your potential to make an impact. The Greystar Intern Program will run from June 1, 2026 – August 7, 2026. This position can be hybrid in Atlanta, GA or Houston, TX or can be remote. As a Data Engineering Intern, you will gain hands-on experience ingesting data into big data platforms and making it available to the business to support decision making and insights. Working alongside experienced engineers, scientists, and architects, you’ll contribute to building scalable solutions and learn how data is designed, managed, and applied across enterprise systems. This role offers exposure to real-world projects in a collaborative environment, with opportunities to sharpen technical skills and develop a strong foundation for a future career in data and analytics.

Requirements

  • Quantitative background and analytical problem-solving ability
  • Strong working knowledge of Python, PySpark, SQL, GitHub and other tools including Microsoft Office specifically Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Strong, precise written and verbal communication skills with ability to articulate complex topics
  • High standard of accuracy, attention to detail, and speed under time-sensitive deadlines
  • Enrolled in a graduate degree program in Data Engineering, Data Analytics or a related field of study
  • Graduating between May 2026-December 2026

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Azure DevOps, Slack, Microsoft Teams, Cursor, Claude and GitHub Copilot

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop data pipelines using Python, PySpark, SQL and other tools
  • Use coding agents to speed up the delivery of data pipelines
  • Create enterprise-level code and repeatable processes
  • Operationalize data pipelines and enhance data quality across both systems and analytics solutions
  • Collaborate with data scientists and data architects on multiple projects
  • Partner with internal teams to support initiatives and improve performance.
  • Generate relevant documentation ready for business use
