About The Position

Data Governance Analyst | Certco, Inc. Madison, WI (Verona Road) | Full-Time | IT Department Certco, Inc. is seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Data Governance Analyst to support ERP master data integrity and help strengthen company-wide data governance standards. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys improving processes, solving data quality challenges, and partnering with stakeholders to ensure accurate, trusted data across the organization. Position Summary Data Governance Analyst will be at the forefront of optimizing master data within our Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system. This role offers a unique opportunity to engage deeply with data cleanup, maintenance, and governance, and gain comprehensive insights into the grocery distribution industry. As our Data Governance Analyst, you will play a pivotal role in enhancing data quality and ensuring that critical information is accurate and actionable for our key stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field (Business, Computer Science, Math, Statistics, etc.)
  • 3–5 years of experience in data analysis, data management, or similar
  • Strong attention to detail and analytical thinking
  • Advanced Excel and Office 365 skills required
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365, particularly MS Excel and Power BI.
  • Exceptional attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Strong communication skills for interacting professionally with customers, colleagues, and business contacts.
  • Analytical thinker with problem-solving abilities and a critical mindset.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision is a must.
  • Strong commitment to maintaining confidentiality.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • 3-5 years of relevant experience in data management or analysis.

Nice To Haves

  • Power BI experience preferred
  • SQL / T-SQL familiarity preferred
  • Grocery/CPG industry knowledge is a plus
  • Familiarity with Microsoft SQL databases and T-SQL for extracting data used in analysis is preferred but not required if Excel knowledge is advanced.
  • Knowledge of the Grocery/CPG industry is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and improve ERP master data quality by identifying inconsistencies, inaccuracies, and duplication
  • Support data cleansing and standardization initiatives across departments
  • Provide reporting and analysis related to data quality trends and remediation efforts
  • Maintain and enhance reporting in support of procurement and operational teams
  • Create and maintain a structured data dictionary
  • Support ERP integration efforts including system testing and migration validation
  • Assist with governance adoption and change support related to data processes and tools
  • Perform detailed analysis of master data within the ERP system to identify and rectify inconsistencies, inaccuracies, and duplications.
  • Partner with data owners and users to implement effective data cleansing and standardization strategies across various ERP modules.
  • Provide ongoing support to users to address data-related questions and issues, ensuring they adhere to data governance policies.
  • Track and report on data quality metrics and the progress of data cleanup efforts to stakeholders.
  • Support the Manager of Business Analytics and Solution Architecture by extracting and analyzing data from internal databases to meet specific requests and present findings in a user-friendly format.
  • Prepare detailed reports on data quality issues, remediation efforts, and overall data governance performance for management review.
  • Maintain and develop a variety of reports to support the procurement department.
  • Create and maintain a data dictionary for all datasets to capture what a data point represents and where it is being utilized in reporting.
  • Collaborate with the ERP implementation team to ensure accurate integration of master data into the new system.
  • Participate in system testing phases to validate data migration and identify any data-related issues or discrepancies.
  • Validate the accuracy and completeness of migrated data and address any issues or gaps that arise during the migration.
  • Support change management efforts related to data processes and tools, including managing user expectations and facilitating smooth transitions during system upgrades or changes.
  • Demonstrates consistent punctuality and adheres to all requirements of the company’s Attendance Policy.
