About The Position

Your Role The Data Services Data Governance team provides data governance center of excellence for effective management of data with an operating model, tools and technologies around Data Catalog, Data Quality and Reference Data Management. The Data Governance Developer, Experienced, will report to the Senior Manager, Data Governance. In this role you will be deeply involved in the design, development, and deployment of secure, high quality data governance solutions. Such solutions would be supporting implementation of Data Governance policies, procedures, and best practices. Your role will support successful outcomes of data governance, with an emphasis on driving adoption of data governance framework across business and technology stakeholders using skills around building and enforcing data governance policies and procedures using processes and tools. This role requires effective usage of data governance tools and stakeholder management. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Management Information Systems, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience required
  • Proven hands-on experience in applying Data Governance concepts and approaches for effective organizational outcomes.
  • Hands on experience in implementing and supporting Data Catalog, Data Quality and Reference Data Management using some Data Governance tools like Collibra, Alation, Monte Carlo etc.
  • Experience in using Data Management and analytics tools like Snowflake, DBT, Airflow, Synapse, Databricks and Tableau.
  • Experience in performance optimization of SQL and scripting code in various settings.
  • Preferred scripting and automation skills using tools such as Python, Java, SQL, Groovy and PowerShell and Shell Scripts.
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies, service-oriented architecture, and enterprise cloud integration, preferably with experience in Microsoft Azure and virtualization platforms such as Citrix.
  • Ability to adapt to changes in processes, methods and technology. Quickly engage, learn and apply.
  • Ability to communicate and articulate complex quantitative analysis in a clear, precise, and actionable manner with variety of stakeholders from developers to executives.

  • Experience with Health Plan Data strongly preferred

Responsibilities

  • Implement Data Governance Framework with effective use of Data Catalog, Data Quality and Reference Data Management tooling.
  • Lead supporting some business areas in achieving the business outcome with by adoption of the data governance framework and tools, policies, standards and procedures.
  • Support establishing business topic specific policies, their implementations and compliance reporting.
  • Effectively manage cross organizational stakeholders with data governance collaboration, decisions and communication.
  • Lead support for product developers on effective use of the governance technology solutions.
  • Drive Data governance with transparency by self-service automated reporting on data governance metrics.
  • Build automations of interfaces around the Data Catalog, Data Quality and Reference Data Management tooling and reporting.
  • Drive operational excellence, including but not limited to Incident Management, process automation leveraging AI, and ensuring smooth deployments for your technology products/platform features.
  • Recommend and implement improvements to departmental processes to enhance agility and efficiency.
  • Enhance the reliability, scalability, and utilization of systems and applications through continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) practices.
  • Be self-directed, work with limited management direction and exercise considerable latitude in determining the technical objectives of the assignment.
