About The Position

We are seeking a talented Data Quality Manager to join our Data Product & Operations team. The Data Quality Manager will oversee and manage data across Govini’s Defense Acquisition applications, ensuring its accuracy, consistency, and accessibility. This role is crucial for maintaining the integrity of our data and supporting decision-making processes across the organization. In order to do this job well, you must be obsessed with quality, clarity, and the relentless pursuit of data perfection. You thrive in murky datasets and love creating order out of chaos. You’re experienced in data quality software to include automated documentation and lineage. You’ve designed data quality strategies and data governance policies and integrated them into numerous diverse data pipelines with continuous monitoring and reporting. The Data Quality Manager will oversee the day-to-day Data Steward team tasks and help allocate resources for new data initiatives. This role is a full-time position located out of our offices in Pittsburgh, PA. This role may require up to 10% travel.

Requirements

  • U.S. Citizenship is required
  • Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field
  • Demonstrated understanding of data governance principles and practices
  • Experience developing data quality standards and frameworks for enterprise data pipelines
  • 4+ years of experience managing data teams
  • 6+ years of experience in data stewardship, data management, or relevant domain expertise
  • Demonstrated ability to write and optimize SQL queries for data extraction and analysis
  • 6+ years of experience in Python programming for data manipulation, transformation, and analysis
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly and concisely
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with attention to detail

Nice To Haves

  • Current possession of a U.S. security clearance, or the ability to obtain one with our sponsorship
  • Experience in or exposure to the nuances of a startup or other entrepreneurial environment
  • Master’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field
  • Generative AI coding and Agent experience
  • Familiarity with defense acquisition processes and related data sources
  • Experience managing data-related projects and initiatives

Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain, and own business logic relative to the transformation and enrichment of Govini data
  • Ensure the accuracy, consistency, and completeness of specific data.
  • Develop and enforce data standards, policies, and procedures to maintain data integrity and compliance
  • Responsible for building, deploying, and maintaining systems for data quality and governance
  • Develop data quality assessment requirements and implement improvement plans to address identified issues
  • Work closely with stakeholders across the organization, including Data Engineering and Data Product Managers, to understand data requirements and provide support
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation of data sources, definitions, and processes
  • Conduct User Acceptance Testing (UAT) after datasets are ingested to ensure adherence to data requirements
  • Utilize SQL to query, analyze, and extract data to support business needs
  • Provide training and support to team members on data-related topics and best practices
