About The Position

Opening available for Data Scientist III - Team Lead at Cotiviti, Inc. in South Jordan, UT: Responsibilities Build and deliver machine learning solutions that help our clients identify payment integrity issues, reduce the cost of healthcare processes, and improve the quality of healthcare outcomes. Lead small teams of data scientists to develop solutions. Mentor data scientists and manage the work effort to make the team successful. Follow processes and practices that allow models to be incorporated into our machine learning platform for production execution and monitoring. Work with data scientists, data science management, business operations, and product management to assess the potential value and risks associated with business problems that have the potential to be solved using Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning (AI/ML) techniques. Develop an exploratory data analysis approach to verify the initial hypothesis associated with potential AI/ML use cases. Develop in-depth EDA to create models that meet or exceed the thresholds required to deliver on the use case. Develop requirements for features required in the final models and interact with the feature library team to get the features built into the library. Document approach, thinking, and results in standard approaches to allow other data scientists to collaborate. Prepare the final trained models using features within the feature library and develop a validation test set for QA. Work with production operations to deploy the models into production and support them in monitoring model performance. Participate in other data science teams collaborating with peers to support their projects. Participate in knowledge sharing sessions to bring new insights and technologies to the team. Participate in design sessions to continuously develop and improve the Cotiviti machine learning platform. Provide feedback on data scientist performance and development opportunities, help guide data scientists in the training, review their work, and report progress of initiatives to management. Qualifications Master’s degree or foreign equivalent degree in Computer Science or related field and 4 years of experience developing machine learning models from novel datasets created in an exploratory data analysis environment. Also requires 4 years of experience with: developing production ready versions of the models that are deployed within operational environments, tracking model impact post deployment, and versioning models appropriately; working in Big Data environments, specifically Hadoop; advanced analytics and applied machine learning solutions; writing SQL queries to efficiently extract data from SQL Server/Oracle and Hive/Impala; using Scala and Python; using Spark framework; using machine learning frameworks, including Scikit-learn; machine learning tools, including DataRobot; cloud AI platforms; DevOps lifecycle tools, including BitBucket, and Jira; natural language processing (NLP) techniques; deep learning techniques; mathematical and statistical models, including Random Forest, Gradient Boosting, and Support Vector Machines; and within the U.S. healthcare industry. Telecommuting available anywhere in the U.S. Company headquarters located at 10701 South River Front Pkwy, Suite 200, South Jordan, UT 84095. Base compensation ranges from at least $151,819. Specific offers are determined by various factors, such as experience, education, skills, certifications, and other business needs. Requirements

  • Master’s degree or foreign equivalent degree in Computer Science or related field and 4 years of experience developing machine learning models from novel datasets created in an exploratory data analysis environment.
