About The Position

The Data Scientist Level 3 (DS L3) supports SWTW’s Integrated Analytics effort by designing, developing, and executing data pipelines, predictive models, and visualization products that inform leadership decision-making. DS L3s serve as the technical backbone of the team, integrating operational, training, and human performance data into actionable insights. This role blends hands-on coding and modeling with direct customer engagement, ensuring analytics products are both technically sound and operationally relevant.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, or related discipline
• 4+ years of experience in data science, analytics, or related roles
• Proficiency in Python, SQL, and statistical software (e.g., R, SPSS)
• Demonstrated experience building predictive models and conducting advanced statistical analysis
• Strong experience with business intelligence tools, particularly Power BI
• Familiarity with DoD systems of record (e.g., Envision, TTMS, ADSS, MHS GENESIS)
• Experience supporting AETC or SOF/AFSPECWAR programs
• Ability to obtain a Tier 1 (T1) clearance

Nice To Haves

• Familiarity with Air Education and Training Command (AETC), Special Warfare Training Wing (SWTW), and the AFSPECWAR pipeline
• Experience with prominent DoD Human Performance programs
• Familiarity with Palantir Envision and/or Foundry platforms
• Prior military service or direct experience supporting operational units

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain Extract, Transform, and Load (ETL) pipelines to integrate multiple DoD systems of record and SWTW internal databases
• Construct data warehouses and staging environments to ensure validated, decision-ready data
• Apply statistical and machine learning methods to forecast outcomes (e.g., attrition, graduation, injury risk)
• Develop dashboards and interactive reports in Power BI tailored to SWTW leadership needs
• Collaborate with stakeholders to refine requirements, validate outputs, and ensure products support mission outcomes
• Document processes, maintain reproducibility, and ensure traceability of data and model outputs
• Provide technical support and troubleshooting to end users in coordination with the PM and DS L5
• Contribute to Initial Analysis, POAM development, and annual reporting cycles by providing technical input on trends, risks, and opportunities
