The IS Software Engineer is a caregiver who builds the tools that put the caregiver experience first. Whether facilitating the streamlining of payment systems, improving our telemetry and observability, or working with large data sets, the IS Software Engineering Team is committed to the fast and reliable delivery of software that matters. This team is tasked with building and delivering working software using AI agents and modern engineering practices. Our goal is to break down complex problems into solvable pieces, moving toward practical solutions that can be implemented and operated in production. With an emphasis on day-to-day execution, engineering discipline, and code quality, the team seeks to translate problem statements into clear plans and delivery on caregiver requirements. Providence supports 100% virtual work for residents located in the following areas: Alaska Washington Oregon Montana California Texas: Lubbock (within 75 miles) Texas: Levelland (within 75 miles) Texas: Plainview (within 75 miles)

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering -OR- a combination of equivalent education and experience
  • 2 or more years of experience in software engineering or another related field of work
  • Experienced with object-oriented programming in C#, Java, Python or equivalent
  • Experienced with source code control systems such as Git
  • Experienced in SQL integration development using SQL/NoSQL
  • Experienced with agile methodologies and tools such as Azure Devops, TFS, and Jira
  • Proven track record of working both independently and collaboratively as part of a multi-disciplined team
  • Experienced at designing and successfully implementing mid-sized projects

Nice To Haves

  • Experienced in a healthcare setting
  • 2 or more years of experience working in software development
  • Experience developing agent‑based software solutions
  • Strong understanding of event‑driven architecture
  • Proven ability to decompose monolithic systems into smaller, manageable components
  • Skilled in designing and implementing microservice architectures
  • Working knowledge of data engineering concepts and best practices
