About The Position

INTECON is looking for a highly skilled Intermediate Data / Statistics Technician to support the Federal Protective Service (FPS) Operations Center by collecting, organizing, analyzing, and reporting operational data that drives situational awareness, executive decision support, and performance management. This role delivers knowledge management and content support, maintains and mines databases in response to RFIs, and produces executive-ready written products (briefs, memos, talking points) in fast-turn environments. The position operates independently and ensures data outputs are accurate, auditable, and aligned to FPS information sharing and records management expectations.

Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree (BA/BS or MA/MS).
  • Experience: 5 years of experience in data analysis or related work; performs functional duties independently.
  • Security Clearance: Secret clearance required.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and apply statistical methods to collect, organize, interpret, and summarize numerical and operational data into usable information for FPS leadership decision-making.
  • Execute knowledge management activities supporting FPS operations and reporting, including content analysis, document management, data capture, portals, shared storage locations, workflow support, collaboration, data warehousing, decision support, and information dissemination.
  • Identify mission-critical information sharing and information access requirements for stakeholders and propose practical technical/process solutions that improve access, retrieval, and dissemination across Watch/Incident Command stakeholders.
  • Design, construct, populate, and maintain internal repositories for relevant analytic, policy, program, background, and legislative information associated with mission portfolios as required by FPS Operations Center leadership.
  • Provide knowledge management and content support to existing information portals by curating content, organizing structured storage, supporting version control practices, and ensuring retrieval readiness for follow-on requests.
  • Maintain databases used to support operations center reporting, metrics, and information distribution; ensure data integrity, consistent data definitions, and repeatable update processes.
  • Conduct database mining in response to Requests for Information (RFIs), extracting relevant records from multiple FPS data sources and performing limited analysis to produce decision-ready findings.
  • Support RFI intake and fulfillment workflows by clarifying requirements (as needed), documenting data pulls, tracking actions/metrics, and ensuring outputs meet suspense timelines and quality expectations.
  • Prepare executive-level reports and products as directed, including Senior Leader Briefs, “In Response to Your Question (IRTYQ)” memos, talking points, and other written products suitable for senior audiences.
  • Translate complex operational data into concise narrative and visual summaries (tables/charts as appropriate) that clearly communicate trends, outliers, and operational impacts to FPS protected facilities and operations.
  • Apply records and content discipline to operational reporting artifacts by supporting consistent filing, labeling, and retention practices so products can be retrieved for leadership, congressional, GAO, IG, or FOIA-related requests when directed.
  • Coordinate with watch personnel and other FPS elements to validate data accuracy, resolve discrepancies, and ensure reporting products reflect the most current and credible information available.
