About The Position

As a Data Systems Architect & Analyst at Christianity Today (CT), you will steward the systems that turn data into insight and insight into wise action. Embedded within the Product and Engineering team, you will architect, build, and maintain scalable secure data infrastructure that supports CT’s digital products and business intelligence. Your work will ensure technical stewardship and analysis, and influence how data powers products, financial forecasting, compliance, and long-term sustainability. In this position, you will report to the Director of Product Management and work closely with CT’s Insights Analyst, help provide access to and translate complex datasets into clear data structures, provide actionable analysis in order to support financial forecasting, and ensure CT abides by appropriate tax laws. Through this work, you will help establish a strong foundation for thoughtful decision-making that serves CT's mission and long-term impact as a place for Christians to be inspired, strengthened, equipped, and empowered to serve in the world and Seek the Kingdom.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience with Python and R or similar coding language.
  • 3+ years of experience with Snowflake or similar relational databases and SQL language.
  • 3+ years of experience with data visualization, including experience with Shiny Apps, visualization tools in R, Power BI, or equivalent.
  • Experience with data orchestration and architecture including cross-platform integration, data pipelines, API calls, GA4, and webhooks.
  • Experience with industry-specific integrations and migrations including but not limited to website JS tags, payment tokens, and cybersecurity expertise.
  • Competence in data migration across a variety of platforms.
  • Previous knowledge and experience with any of the following platforms: ActiveCampaign, BigCommerce, Blackbaud, GAM, GA4, GTM, Megaphone, Piano, Razor’s Edge, Sage Intacct, Shopify, Squarespace, Stripe, Substack, WordPress, Zapier, and Zendesk.
  • Experience with tax compliance and payment processing software.
  • Ability to present data and system complexities clearly in technical detail and in a digestible manner for cross-departmental teams.

Nice To Haves

  • Willingness to teach, mentor, and coach staff to promote data literacy is a plus.
  • Preferred experience includes, but is not limited to computer science, information systems, statistics, or other technical/quantitative sciences.

Responsibilities

  • Architectural Maintenance & Strategy: Maintain CT’s existing robust data management system, perform data audits, and build out/incorporate new integrations for the organization that includes marketing, financial, editorial, media, philanthropic, and other data inputs.
  • Data Collection: Develop and implement data collection strategies to ensure comprehensive and accurate data gathering from various sources with minimal data discrepancies providing regularly updated data dashboards.
  • Analytics Support: Collaborate proactively with other team members, suggest innovative metrics and construct data pipelines to facilitate advanced analytics as needed.
  • Data Migration & Orchestration: Lead and manage the migration of data to/from various systems to ensure data synchronization across multiple platforms.
  • Data Security & Compliance: Recommend and implement solutions to enhance data security and ensure adherence to privacy policies and regulations.
  • Financial Support: Work alongside CT’s finance department to ensure that sales tax is properly collected, oversee transaction files for sales tax remittance, build and manage automations to prepare payout reports, and regularly review payment tokens and to ensure seamless user experience.
  • Operational/Marketing Support: Track patterns in the customer service ticket systems, investigate issues as requested, and provide marketing automation support related to data integration.
  • Perform additional job-related duties as assigned.
