About The Position

The Data Visualization Analyst is responsible for driving change in how data is presented, understood, and utilized across the organization. This role blends advanced data visualization and analytics expertise with hands-on data engineering skills to ensure accurate, timely, and impactful insights that support operational, strategic, and regulatory decision-making. The Data Visualization Analyst will work closely with clinical, operational, and administrative stakeholders to design visually compelling dashboards, reports, and scorecards—primarily using Power BI—while also developing and maintaining the underlying data structures, queries, and pipelines that support those visualizations. This role also carries responsibility for mentoring users and fellow analysts in effective use of Power BI and data visualization best practices.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Computer Science, Information Management, Statistics, Data Analytics, or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in data analytics, data engineering, business intelligence, or a related role (healthcare experience preferred).
  • Proven experience developing dashboards and reports using Power BI.
  • Strong SQL development experience, including complex queries and performance optimization.
  • Experience supporting automated and standardized reporting solutions.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with statistical or analytical tools (e.g., SAS, SPSS, R, JMP) preferred.
  • Certified Database Administrator or relevant analytics certification (preferred).
  • Experience or exposure to AI or advanced analytics initiatives preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain visually compelling dashboards, reports, charts, and scorecards that translate complex data into actionable insights for leadership and operational teams.
  • Create standardized and ad hoc reports to support organizational metrics, performance measurement, quality improvement initiatives, and regulatory reporting.
  • Apply data visualization best practices, storytelling techniques, and usability standards to ensure insights are easily understood and effectively consumed.
  • Prepare presentation-ready visualizations for leadership meetings, Medical Advisory Board meetings, Quality Improvement Committees, and Board of Directors meetings.
  • Mine enterprise data sources to identify trends, interpret results, and clearly communicate findings to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Develop, code, and maintain SQL queries, views, and data models that support analytics and visualization solutions.
  • Perform concurrent and retrospective data collection from clinical, operational, and administrative systems to ensure comprehensive reporting coverage.
  • Ensure data collection processes are consistent, repeatable, accurate, and aligned with organizational standards.
  • Interpret and adapt to changes in database structures and source systems, ensuring reporting continuity and data integrity.
  • Maintain documentation and written instructions for data models, reporting logic, and database maintenance procedures.
  • Verify and validate data accuracy prior to reporting, including routine audits of key performance and operational metrics.
  • Work directly with end users to gather business requirements, validate reporting outputs, and ensure data solutions meet operational needs.
  • Serve as a consultative partner to clinical and administrative departments, providing data-driven insights to support process improvement and decision-making.
  • Mentor and coach business users on Power BI usage, data interpretation, and visualization best practices.
  • Promote visualization standards, templates, and governance to improve consistency and scalability across the organization.
