About The Position

The Database Administrator is a top level technical contributor able to perform all aspects of database management in a multi-platform enterprise scale environment. Responsible for performance tuning, data integrity, data security, and data interchange and other concepts related to the Oracle/SQL databases. Oracle. This is a hybrid based in Puerto Rico

Requirements

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.
  • Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience.
  • Knowledge of capacity planning for database scalability and server scalability
  • Configuring, maintaining and troubleshooting of OEM, Idera.
  • Working knowledge of Unix/MS Operating Systems.
  • Proactively monitoring all Oracle/MS server environments.
  • Provided end user client support and setup configurations.
  • Proficient in Scripting.
  • Ability to work in a team environment and work with core infrastructure teams like MidRange, Networking, Storage etc.
  • Experience with Exadata.

Nice To Haves

  • Exposure/Experience and/or willingness to learn other databases like Mongo, MySql.
  • Oracle/MS SQl Certifications.

Responsibilities

  • Manage all technical aspects of the Oracle/MS Sql environments.
  • Supporting production 24X7 and non-production database servers.
  • Ability to provide rotating On-call support as required.
  • Experience supporting both standalone and RAC for Oracle 12 thru 19c and MS Sql 2016 thru 2025 including installation, patching, troubleshooting and upgrading.
  • Experience supporting both standalone and always on for MS Sql 2016 thru 2025 including installation, patching, troubleshooting and upgrading.
  • Perform daily, weekly, and monthly data maintenance tasks.
  • Creating, altering, and maintaining database backup and recovery process.
  • Creating, altering, migrating, and maintaining databases and database objects (stored procedures, functions, tables, indexes, etc.) through the various stages of the application life cycle.
  • Configuring and maintaining data replication: Data Guard.
  • Provided support to development teams tuning complex queries and store procedures.
  • Participates in project / system development life cycle.
  • Participates in development and implementation of disaster recovery plans.
