About The Position

As a key member within the IT Enterprise Architecture (ITEA) organization, the Database Developer will be responsible for the design, development, implementation, and management of SSIS processes for imports, exports, reconciliations, and custom data transformations. As a back-up to the DBA, this role also involves performing basic database administration tasks, optimizing SQL queries, and ensuring data accuracy across multiple systems. The Database Developer will collaborate with cross-functional teams to support operational data needs, troubleshoot issues, and implement scalable solutions that drive business efficiency and data integrity. This role reports to the VP, Enterprise Architecture.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
  • 3-5 years of experience with enterprise resource planning (ERP) platforms such as Unit4 ERP, Microsoft Dynamics 360, Oracle NetSuite or equivalent.
  • 7-10 years of extensive experience in SSIS design and development including the use of C# script tasks and integration with APIs.
  • 7-10 years of strong proficiency in SQL Server, T-SQL, and data modeling concepts.
  • 3-5 years of basic SQL Server DBA skills including back-ups, restores, security, replication and basic troubleshooting.
  • 2-3 years of familiarity with cloud technologies is a plus specifically Azure and Azure SQL Database.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Nice To Haves

  • Certifications in Microsoft SQL Server or related technologies.
  • Experience with Agile methodologies and project management.
  • Experience with Jira Epic and Stories to document projects.
  • Previous Travel technology experience - EDIFACT
  • Unit4 Central Command expertise
  • Extensive DBA experience

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, implement and maintain SSIS packages to extract, transform, and load data from various sources into data warehouses or databases including use of C# script tasks and integration with APIs.
  • Develop and maintain minor customizations for managing data quality within CentralCommand.
  • Develop specifications for credit card reconciliations, imports, and exports.
  • Collaborate with business analysts and stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
  • Monitor and optimize SSIS packages for performance and efficiency.
  • Ensure data quality and integrity for imports, exports and reconciliations.
  • Stay up to date with the latest developments in SSIS, and related technologies, and recommend enhancements as needed.
  • Provide training and support to team members and end-users on SSIS tools.
  • Participate in project planning and execution, ensuring timely delivery of projects.
  • Analyze API integrations using API Testing & Integration Tools such as Postman or SoapUI.
