About The Position

Performs and support the design, development, and maintenance of data solutions across SQL Server and Microsoft Azure. Follows standards-based practices and procedures in analyzing situations and complex problems. Investigates, troubleshoots, analyzes and resolves problems related to the enterprise databases as well as related application and system problems that have been escalated for senior level support.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required. Bachelor’s degree in information technology or relevant field preferred
  • 4+ years working with Azure, ETL, Data Engineering and relational databases
  • 4-5 years of experience in the Information Technology field
  • Experience administering multi-server, multi-database installations
  • SQL skills, including writing queries, joins, and basic performance tuning
  • SQL Server (SSMS, T‑SQL, database objects)
  • Understanding of Azure cloud concepts (Azure Fundamentals certification is a plus)
  • Familiarity with ETL/ELT concepts and data modeling basics
  • Experience with at least one programming or scripting language (SQL, Python, C#, PowerShell, etc.)
  • Strong analytical thinking and willingness to learn new tools and technologies
  • Good communication skills and ability to work in a team environment

Responsibilities

  • Build, maintain, and optimize SQL Server databases, tables, views, stored procedures, and ETL processes
  • Provide On-call support for production jobs
  • Assist in developing data pipelines using Azure services such as Azure Data Factory, Azure Functions, and Azure Storage
  • Support data ingestion from various sources into cloud and on‑prem environments
  • Help implement data quality checks, validation rules, and monitoring processes
  • Work with Azure resources including Azure SQL Database, Azure Synapse (optional), Azure Data Lake, and Azure DevOps
  • Participate in deployments, version control, and CI/CD workflows
  • Assist in configuring and monitoring cloud environments for performance, cost, and reliability
  • Work closely with senior data engineers to learn best practices and contribute to project deliverables
  • Support analysts and business users by troubleshooting data issues and providing documentation
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies and contribute to sprint planning and retrospectives
  • Provides trend analysis to the management team to assist in resource management
  • Works on various projects related to evaluating, testing, and deployment of new database systems/technology
  • Interfaces with and supports different areas of IT (Software Development, IT Support, Network Operations) during project requirements gathering, design, implementation and documentation
  • Other duties as assigned
