About The Position

You'll spend your summer investing in the lives of kids in our community. Our Summer Day Camp Counselors make a big impact by helping kids make new friends, learn new skills and experience new activities all summer long. As a Summer Day Camp Counselor for the Quincy Kroc Center, you can expect to: 1. Maintain a safe environment for all Day Camp participants. This includes adherence to all policies and procedures of the Quincy Kroc Center and Kroc Youth Development department. 2. Facilitate day camp check in and out procedures in accordance with the established procedure. Perform regular head counts and maintain accurate attendance records. 3. Accompany children to and from the Kroc Center and off-site locations. 4. Observe and monitor children's play activities and interactions. 5. Lead developmentally appropriate activities and/or field trips using training protocol and written lesson plans. 6. Assist in preparing and serving snacks, meals, and/or refreshments to children. 7. Communicate with the Youth Development Coordinator and/or Specialist regarding parent requests, behavioral issues, special projects, and any other challenges. 8. Communicate with children's parents or guardian about daily activities, behaviors, and related issues. 9. Perform light housekeeping duties, such as tidying activity spaces, sanitizing, cleaning, and dishwashing. This job description is not all inclusive. It is intended to identify the essential duties of the position. Other duties, responsibilities, and tasks may be assigned at the discretion of the supervisor. The Quincy Kroc Center redefines what a community center is all about. The Kroc Center is comprised of several major components: a center of worship and performance venue, an aquatics center, fitness and recreation center, classrooms, and special event facilities. The programs, as well as the building itself, have been designed to stimulate the mind, body, and spirit to provide hope and to transform the life of each and every member of the community.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age to drive per TSA driver requirements.
  • High School diploma or equivalent.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in a gymnasium, camp, teaching, leadership, or athletic setting is helpful.
