About The Position

The Non Union Janitor plays a critical role in maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment within the facility. This position is responsible for performing a variety of cleaning and maintenance tasks to ensure all areas meet established standards of hygiene and appearance. The janitor will work independently or as part of a team to complete daily cleaning schedules, respond to urgent cleaning needs, and support facility operations. Attention to detail and a commitment to health and safety protocols are essential to prevent hazards and promote a positive experience for all building occupants. Ultimately, the janitor contributes to the overall functionality and professionalism of the workplace by ensuring that all spaces are orderly and well-maintained.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in janitorial or custodial work preferred but not required.
  • Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
  • Basic understanding of cleaning chemicals and supplies and their safe use.
  • Reliable attendance and punctuality.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working in a commercial or institutional cleaning environment.
  • Familiarity with OSHA regulations and workplace safety standards.
  • Ability to operate floor cleaning machines and other specialized equipment.
  • Strong communication skills to effectively report issues and coordinate with team members.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine cleaning tasks including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, and trash removal across all assigned areas.
  • Clean and sanitize restrooms, break rooms, and other common areas to maintain high standards of hygiene.
  • Restock supplies such as paper towels, soap, and toilet paper in restrooms and other designated locations.
  • Report any maintenance issues, safety hazards, or security concerns to the appropriate personnel promptly.
  • Operate cleaning equipment safely and efficiently, following manufacturer guidelines and safety procedures.
  • Assist with setup and cleanup for special events or meetings as needed.
  • Adhere to all health and safety regulations and company policies while performing duties.
