About The Position

Citizenship and Science Academy of Rochester is excited to announce an opening for a Dean of Students for the 2026–2027 academic year. We are seeking a dedicated and dynamic professional committed to fostering a positive, structured, and student-centered school environment.

Requirements

Master’s Degree (required)
Fingerprint clearance through the NYS Department of Education
Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and follow-through
Effective analytical and problem-solving abilities
Excellent communication and negotiation skills
Ability to collaborate and work effectively within a team
Proven ability to build and maintain strong professional relationships
Capacity to develop and manage systems that improve organizational efficiency
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
Strong composure and decision-making in high-pressure situations

Nice To Haves

Experience working with diverse student populations and/or in an urban setting (preferred)

Responsibilities

Consistently implement the school’s Code of Conduct
Train and educate staff, students, and families on behavior expectations and policies
Maintain a visible and accessible presence throughout the school
Analyze behavioral data to identify trends and implement action plans
Identify students in need of behavioral support and develop targeted intervention plans
Build positive relationships with students and families to support a respectful school culture
Collaborate with counselors and teachers to develop and implement RTI (Response to Intervention) processes
Work collaboratively with administrators, teachers, and parents while maintaining professionalism
