About The Position

Defense Financial Analyst, Mid The Opportunity: The right mixture of great ideas and funding can create change. That’s why we need you, a Finan cia l Analyst who can navigate the requirements, policies , and regulations that govern funding to make sure the Department of Defense’s ( DoD ) resources can make the most impact. As a Finan cia l Planner on our team, you’ll support Joint Force Development by providing expertise in highly spe cia lized finan cia l, programmatic, and business analysis environments to support senior management business decisions. You will apply specific functional knowledge of Micro sof t Office Suite, including Excel, data entry, analysis of data, and program management and finance. You'll participate in the identification, analysis, and evaluation of policy and processes related to DoD Training initiatives. You will plan, coordinate, and support meetings and planning events involving worldwide participants to improve the use of joint training resources. You'll contribute to the resolution of complex programmatic and finan cia l problems using analytic judgment and proven analytic practices. You will work independently with some guidance and multitask in a fast-paced environment while meeting strict deadlines. This is an opportunity for you to learn the laws, regulations, and policies that will help your client develop well-formed requirements. Once the funding is in place, you’ll make sure the funding is used efficiently through consistent tracking and communication with Joint Force senior leadership. Requirements

  • Experience supporting military headquarters in program finan cia l management
  • Experience with finan cia l execution of a spending plan within a DoD organization, including analysis of obligation plans versus obligations
  • Experience with monthly finan cia l reporting
  • Experience with finan cia l programming for operations and maintenance, and research, development, test, and evaluation funding
  • Experience with business and accounting processes and policy
  • Knowledge of the Defense Agencies Initiative ( DAI ) Finan cia l Database
  • Knowledge of analytical techniques and evaluation criteria to measure and improve program effectiveness and productivity
  • Knowledge of Micro sof t Office Suite, O365, and Micro sof t Excel
  • Top Secret clearance
  • Bachelor’s degree and 3+ years of experience with finan cia l execution, or 7+ years of experience with finan cia l execution in lieu of a degree

Nice To Haves

  • Experience creating complex spreadsheets
  • Experience with the DAI Finan cia l Database
  • Experience within a DoD comptroller organization
  • Knowledge of pertinent laws, policies , regulations, and precedents applicable to joint training programs and related resources
  • Ability to research payments in government systems
  • Ability to interpret the intent of a client’s needs effectively and help to shape and form the solution by leveraging team capabilities
  • Ability to work in a highly dynamic, fast-paced environment with aggressive project timelines and continual client delivery
  • Possession of excellent verbal and written communication skills
