About The Position
The Dental Assistant Instructor / Externship Coordinator delivers classroom and lab instruction, guides students in achieving their educational goals, and models professional behaviors. This role is key to maintaining a positive, engaging, and compliant learning environment.
Requirements
- Current Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) license
- Graduate of an accredited Dental Assistant program (minimum 900 contact hours)
- Minimum 4 years of in-field dental assisting experience
- Degree or post-secondary education as required by state/accreditation
Nice To Haves
- Teaching experience preferred but not required
Responsibilities
- Teach and assess students in classroom and lab settings
- Prepare lesson plans and maintain instructional materials and equipment
- Monitor attendance, grade assessments, and submit reports on time
- Maintain clean and organized classrooms and lab areas
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and institutional policies
- Participate in faculty development, meetings, and other assigned duties
