About The Position

Cleveland-Cliffs is seeking a qualified candidate to fill a Department Administrator position in it's Steel Producing Division located at the Burns Harbor, Indiana Plant. Summary of Responsibilities: Act as a liaison between Steel, Human Resources, Labor Relations, & Payroll departments in matters concerning employees, payroll, & special projects. Process & oversee hourly & salaried payroll in conjunction with hourly clerical technicians: review & approve payments; investigate & correct discrepancies; coach & support hourly clerical timekeepers; audit, track, & report attendance, overtime, & vacation usage. Train hourly clerical staff & fill-in for vacancies as needed Coordinate & document intra/interdepartmental personnel changes (demotions, promotions, transfers, etc.). Keep track of internal and plant wide bids Submit & track IT access, equipment, & service requests Order non-operating supplies. Responsible for the administration, posting, communication and coordination of company and department policies. Assist and support various area managers. Process monthly reports such as layered audits and safety observations. Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High school diploma.
  • Administrative or executive assistant experience.
  • Intermediate computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, & PowerPoint.
  • Minimum of 5 years work experience
  • Must possess excellent interpersonal skills and organizational skills, be self-motivated and detail oriented
  • Must be a team player with the ability to multi-task at an advanced level
  • Strong written and oral communication skills, a professional demeanor and presentation.
