About The Position

We are seeking a Distribution Operations Coordinator to support daily operations at our 3PL Cross Dock Center in Houston, TX. This part-time contractor position is ideal for students or individuals seeking a flexible schedule while gaining hands-on experience in logistics and supply chain operations. The role combines warehouse coordination, inventory monitoring, and communication across suppliers, customers, and internal teams. Approximately 50% of the work is physical/outdoor and 50% is computer-based.

Requirements

  • 2–4 years of experience in logistics, warehousing, distribution, or cross-dock operations.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Outlook, Excel, and Word.
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work both indoors and outdoors.
  • Must own steel-toe boots.
  • Ability to learn quickly and take ownership of tasks.

Nice To Haves

  • SAP ERP experience is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate daily activities with the 3PL provider to support safe, accurate, and efficient warehouse and cross-dock operations.
  • Monitor aging inventory and create tracking reports to support inventory accuracy.
  • Record outbound shipments, investigate discrepancies, and resolve shipping-related issues.
  • Troubleshoot system or process issues with support from the Site Lead and IT team.
  • Communicate order status, exceptions, and scheduling updates to suppliers, customers, and internal teams.
  • Ensure proper storage, labeling, and palletizing of outbound materials.
  • Assist with resolving shipping delays, product shortages, or damages.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and support site reporting needs.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
