About The Position

The Department Manager directs and leads a high-performing team of Systems Managers, Project Managers, Technical Specialists, Architects, and developers to develop and implement business solutions that provide optimum business value. The position requires expert knowledge of Enterprise-scale business applications that will be utilized across multiple business units. As part of the role, the Department Manager provides thought leadership in a wide range of technology initiatives to support the business priorities of the company. The Department Manager guides and oversees the work of the Build Systems Managers, each of whom manages build, implementation and integration for a suite of applications. The Department Manager ensures that synergies are achieved where possible across the application portfolio, champions the implementation of new approved technologies, oversees the development of application roadmaps, and ensures compliance with Enterprise Technology & Security (ETS) and Con Edison policies and procedures. The Department Manager maintains strong relationships with business partners and with vendors. The manager works closely with other ETS leadership to ensure secure and appropriate application integrations, thorough planning, secure process and procedures, and collaborative alignment with ETS Strategy. The manager also engages closely with the Application Managed Services (Run) team to ensure that new applications and enhancements are fully and thoroughly transferred to ensure optimal support by the Run team. This position works closely with Shared Services business partners to provide vendor oversight, strategic direction, project vision and maintain the reliable ongoing implementation, development and enhancement of IT systems to serve Shared Services. This position does not provide employment pursuant to the terms of a STEM OPT Training Plan.
