Requirements

  • Knowledge of PLC programming, robotics, vision systems, and automated control systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, and technical manuals.
  • Excellent problem-solving, decision-making, and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems).
  • Strong communication and leadership abilities to guide diverse technical teams.
  • Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, heat, and moving machinery safely.
  • Standing, walking, and occasional lifting (up to 50 lbs.) required.
  • Flexible schedule, including potential nights, weekends, or on call as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Directly supervise, mentor, and train a team of automation technicians.
  • Assign and prioritize daily work tasks, ensuring deadlines are met.
  • Create leader standard work for technicians.
  • Evaluate performance and recommend areas of improvement.
  • Promote a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Monitor automated processes to ensure consistent production flow and product quality.
  • Respond promptly to breakdowns and perform emergency repairs as required, ensuring minimal production downtime.
  • Analyze performance and root cause reports to identify trends and opportunities for optimization.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives to increase productivity, reduce waste, process optimization, and improve equipment reliability.
  • Collaborates with engineering, maintenance, and production teams to develop and implement process changes.
  • Provides advanced troubleshooting and technical support for automation equipment
  • Oversee new product set ups, validations, and standardization to ensure optimal performance and reduce scrap.
  • Ensures team performs Daily, weekly, and Monthly preventative maintenance check sheets on Martins as required and log all in E-Maintenance.
  • Identify and suggest improvements in equipment reliability, maintenance procedures, and cost control using lean tools such as 5S, Kaizen, TPM, and root cause analysis
  • Support and provides leadership during integration of new automation equipment and upgrades and ensuring food grade requirements are met.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of system changes, equipment manuals, and process updates.
  • Reduce equipment downtime and improved production efficiency.
  • Successful completion of preventive maintenance schedules.
  • Technician skill growth and retention.
  • Implementation of measurable process improvements.
  • Identify areas of improvement to provide company cost savings.
