About The Position
A Design Consultant assists the customer from start to finish, including providing in-home design services that are customized perfectly based on the customer’s style preferences. A design consultant is driven in every aspect of the job, including taking world class care of customers, selecting styles and colors, and drawing unique floor plans that are the perfect match for their customers. They truly enjoy meeting new people and building relationships based on trust and rapport. Our customers view their consultant as an inquisitive solution seeker, passionate about creating an ideal solution for their home furnishing needs. Each Design Consultant receives unrivaled training, including: Thorough product knowledge of our quality-crafted products The technology that drives HOM Furniture, streamlines our work and simplifies our customer's shopping experience Our unique customer focused sales solution approach The art of meticulous accuracy and follow up when processing each order and delivery Room planning and design skills (manual or computerized). Understanding different elements of design such as color, patterns, etc Competency in all aspects of Project Management. We focus on exceptional customer experiences, whether inside one of our large, beautiful stores, or meeting the customer in-home. Each Design Consultant listens attentively and asks the right questions, then delivers the perfect design solution every time. They love the end result nearly as much as their customers!
Requirements
- Must be working towards or have a high school diploma or GED, 2 year or 4 year college degree preferred
- Minimum of 2 years exceptional customer service experience required
- Must be able to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
Nice To Haves
- Big ticket top writer commission sales experience preferred, such as; home furnishings, automotive, recreational vehicles, appliances, etc.
Responsibilities
- Assists the customer from start to finish

- Maintaining price cards plus light duty vacuuming and dusting in their assigned areas.
