About The Position

The Design Drafter is responsible for planning and designing a variety of products using CAD equipment. This role works closely with the engineers in the organization.

Requirements

• Prioritize and complete a variety of tasks in a timely manner
• Ability to interpret engineer drawings and terminology
• Understanding of mathematical calculations
• Knowledge of drafting and design work
• Understanding of CAD equipment
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, AutoCAD and Creo
• 2 + years of College in Engineering and/or Mechanical Design/Drafting
• 0-2 years of CAD Design or related experience

Responsibilities

• Responsible for the design of a variety of products including the layout, assembly, and detailed drawings of complete products
• Evaluates finished work for accuracy, complete projection of views and cost-effective tolerances
• Prepares a variety of detailed drawings per standard drafting practice
• Responsible for reviewing engineer change notices
• Maintains CAD materials and supplies for CAD operations
• Promotes a safe workplace by performing all tasks in a safe and thoughtful manner in compliance with all rules, procedures, instructions, devices, equipment and use of appropriate personal protective equipment.
• Maintain vigilance for any hazardous conditions or practices in the workplace and immediately report any unsafe conditions or practice to your supervisor
• Performs other related duties as directed
