Join our Light Structures team within the Rigid Frame Truck Engineering organization and become a driving force behind the design and development of light structures for Productivity Class Large Mining Trucks. As a Design Engineer, you will work on light structures engineering projects focusing on Large Mining Trucks. Your responsibilities will span coordinating cross-functional activities involving product development, value chain optimization, manufacturing processes, procurement, commercial, and product support. You will be accountable for managing project timelines, budgets, product quality, and ensuring the successful implementation of light structures solutions that address unique challenges within the mining industry. Requirements

Requires a degree in an accredited Engineering curriculum.
Analytical Thinking: Ability to determine the root cause of problems and create alternative solutions that resolve these problems.
Effective Communications: Ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas and information.
Managing Multiple Priorities: Ability to manage multiple concurrent objectives, projects, or activities, making effective judgments as to prioritizing and time allocation.
Technical Excellence: Knowledge of a given technology and various application methods; ability to develop and provide solutions to significant technical challenges.
Computer-Aided Design & Engineering: Extensive experience with Creo, Vis View, and Teamcenter.
Product Design - MFG: Knowledge of processes, approaches, tools and techniques of product design; ability to convert customer and market requirements into product design.
Product Design and Development: Knowledge of product features; ability to design, build, and develop a new product, technology, or service from concept through to production.

Nice To Haves

Rigid Frame Truck or mining industry application knowledge.
Previous experience designing fabrications.
Caterpillar component and systems knowledge.

Responsibilities

Design and analyze light structures components for Large Mining Trucks.
Deliver on quality, velocity, and cost targets for New Product Introduction (NPI).
Resolve Continuous Product Improvement (CPI) projects with a sense of urgency to reduce customer pain.
Drive collaboration with product development groups, value chain, manufacturing, procurement, suppliers, commercial, and product support.
Develop and document functional design requirements.
Provide support for design reviews and conformance to design guidelines and best practices.
